TECH TIP: Some data is pulled in dynamically, integrating with Banner to automatically include essential information such as name, job description, department, office location, and phone number. Publishing Your Profile

  • The faculty & staff profile module app automatically publishes your profile page in real time. However, there can be a slight delay in publishing. The queue can simultaneously handle up to 2 publish jobs at a time. Additional jobs wait in line and are processed in the order they were submitted. The time it takes for your edits to go live depends on your place in the queue.

The faculty & staff profile module will also go through a site-wide publish every evening at 7 p.m.

  • If your page is not publishing, please submit a Website Support & Troubleshooting service request

Adding a Photo to Your Profile

*Please note: Photos for the faculty and staff profile module must be taken by the university photographer. While a photo is not required, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to get a professional portrait (for free!) from the Office of University Relations (OUR).

Photos taken by OUR are available in UNCW's Photo Archive Database.

  1. Visit UNCW's Photo Archive Database.

  2. Locate your portrait.
    • It must be the standard portrait with a teal background.
    • It must be vertical, not horizontal.
    • Profile photos, which typically have an environment backdrop, are not allowed.

  3. Copy the URL of your portrait.

  4. Paste it in the last text field, "Professional Portrait/Headshot Image URL" within the app.

  5. If you're having trouble locating your portrait, please contact Photo Services.

My Data is Incorrect

  • Some data is pulled dynamically, integrating with Banner to automatically include essential information such as name, job description, department, office location, and phone number. If this information is incorrect, please contact Human Resources at hrsearch@uncw.edu. Please be sure to include "fac/staff profile edit request" in your email subject line.

Permitted URLs in Custom UNCW URL

  • The following URLs are permitted:
    • uncw.edu
    • library.uncw.edu
    • giving.uncw.edu
    • alumni.uncw.edu
    • uncwsports.com

  • Currently, links to people.uncw.edu and student.uncw.edu cannot be used in the custom UNCW URL field. We are working with leadership to allow external links to professional websites, including personal ones or people.uncw.edu, but we do not have a timeline for when this might happen.

We encourage you to use Scholars@UNCW to present your publications, research, and teaching.

  • LinkedIn is another resource that your profile can link to directly.
