Answer
All faculty, staff and students have the ability to log in to the VPN (Virtual Private Network).
- Launch "AnyConnect VPN Client."
- Click "Connect." If UNCW VPN does not appear in the client, please enter "vpn.uncw.edu".
- On the Sign in screens, enter your username, then click next. Enter your password, then click next.
- Next, you will be prompted to choose options for sign in. Note that this screen will prompt for sign in preferences each time you log into the campus VPN, regardless of the options chosen.

- You will then be prompted to approve the Duo push on your mobile device. If you use other methods to authenticate while connecting to VPN, such as using an SMS code or key fob, click on the "Other options" link.

- Choose the authentication method you use for two-factor authentication from the menu, then complete the authentication step by using the passcode on your Duo application or key fob.

- After completing your work at UNCW it is recommended to click "Disconnect" in the AnyConnect client, as connections may be slower when using VPN.
TECH TIP:
Not all teleworkers need to use VPN services to perform their work or learning functions. The majority of UNCW services are Web-based and can be accessed through a Web browser or Horizon.
VPN is not needed for the following services:
- Horizon
- Outlook Email / Office 365 Email
- Canvas
- OneDrive
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Echo360
- Zoom
- Office 365
- WebNow
